Introduction to Musical Learning for Special Needs Students ($50) -- This book is a full curriculum in basic musical skills for special needs students. It is suitable for students who are non-verbal or very young; students need only be able to recognize numbers 1 - 10 and the alphabet. The book covers several areas, including musical alphabet, music reading (bass and treble), rhythm reading (Kodaly-style), instrument recognition, keeping a steady beat, matching pitch, musical style, and musical form. There are several activities per lesson (2 - 3) written into the book. In addition to this material, there is also a section for parent information, and a guide on how to use the book. At the back, there are several flashcards (whole, half, quarter and eighth notes; colored-coded and black musical alphabet cards, rhythm syllables, comparison words, etc.) that may be cut out and used to play several different games (listed in the book) to help students learn.
Musical Alphabet Chart ($25) -- This is a large (posterboard sized) musical alphabet chart, meant to help kids learn their musical alphabet. A small copy is in the book; this one comes with Velcro on its empty squares for students to match the letters properly.
Staff Board ($25) -- This is a large (posterboard sized) music staff board. Underneath are blanks to put letter names, etc. The board has Velcro on it; it is meant to be used with the flashcards in the Introduction to Musical Learning book.
Rhythm Board ($25) -- This is a large (posterboard sized) rhythm lines board (like drum music). It has three lines to place rhythms on with blanks underneath to place rhythm names. It comes with Velcro.
