Summer Camps 2009

Welcome to our summer camps, 2009 page!  We have lots of exciting opportunities coming up this summer!  Below you'll find all our camp descriptions, complete with dates, times, and prices.  If you are interested in a particular camp, please sign up early to ensure your spot.  Also, this year, if any camp does not meet a minimum number of participants a week before the start time, it will be canceled -- yet another reason to sign up early and encourage your friends to do so, too!  You can read about all our summer camp policies below our camp descriptions.  Please read them carefully!  They are different from last year and very important.  When you sign up for a camp, you are stating that you agree to all these policies, so please read them carefully!

Summer Camp Policies

Registering for Camp

Camp registration will take place between January 1, 2009, and May 10, 2009.    Registration may be completed via phone, website, or mail.  To complete registration by mail, please call or mail and request an application form, and return it via mail.  All camp information must be complete, and payment must be included.  Incomplete registrations will be returned.

Early Registration

Early registration takes place from Jan. 1, 2009 until April 1, 2009.  Registrations that are received on or before April 1 will receive a 10% discount on camp prices.  Early registration is encouraged to ensure a spot in the desired camp.

Late Registration

Registrations arriving after May 10 will be considered on a case-by-case basis if there is room in the camp.  Spots are NOT guaranteed.  Late registrations are also subject to a 5% late fee.  No registrations will be accepted after one week prior to the camp’s start date, regardless of circumstances.

Notification/Starting Camp

All camp participants will be notified that their registrations have been received immediately after they have been processed.  Camp participants will also receive a second confirmation a week before the camp’s scheduled start date.  Confirmation letters will be sent both via email and snail mail.

First Day of Camp

On the camp’s starting day, participants should arrive at or before the scheduled start time (ten minutes early is sufficient) so that we may begin on time.  Location information will be provided in the final confirmation letter.  Parents are welcome to stay if they wish; for the special needs camps, parents or therapists are required to stay.  At the end of the scheduled time, parents should pick students up on time.

Payment for Camp

Payment for camps is due at the time a camper’s registration is received.  A spot will not be held unless both a registration and payment are received.  Payment is accepted via check or Paypal.  Participants will receive a receipt via snail mail along with their camp information and registration confirmation.  In case a registration must be cancelled, see refunds and cancellation policy.

Low-income families

If a child would like to participate in camp, but the family cannot afford it, please contact us.  We may be able to work out a deal.  We believe music is for everyone and would like to keep cost from being prohibitive for lower income families.  Families must make less than $30,000 per year to qualify for low-income assistance.

Multiple camps/sibling Discounts

If participants sign up for multiple camps, a discount of 20% for each additional camp will be issued.  If multiple siblings sign up for camps, second and subsequent siblings will be issued 10% off.  The discounts will be off the less expensive camps if there are price differences.  Please contact us with any questions.

Schedules and Vacations

We realize that summer is a busy time, and that families may be on vacation during parts of camp weeks.  We strongly encourage you not to register for any camps students will not be able to fully participate in.  In the event that families choose to register and attend a partial week, no refunds or discounts will be given for missed camp days.

Illnesses

Should a camp participant become ill and unable to attend camp for one or more days, please keep him/her home until the illness is no longer contagious.  If one day is missed, no refunds will be issued.  If more than one day is missed, we will discuss the individual circumstances with the family, potentially offering make-up time during other camps or individually.  However, we are not required to provide students with alternative arrangements, and we will not issue any refunds due to illness (for students who attend a partial camp week).

Should a student become ill during a camp session, parents will be called immediately to pick up the ill child.  Parents must be in contact with the studio at all times while their child is participating in camp, just in case illness or emergency does arise.

Refunds/Cancellations

Cancellation at our discretion

All camps will have minimum enrollment.  If this minimum is not met one week prior to the camp’s start date, the camp will be cancelled and any enrolled participants will be notified.  If we need to cancel the camp, we will issue a full refund to any registered participants.  Refunds will be issued within 2 weeks of notification and will be via check, sent through the mail.

Cancellation by participants

If registration is cancelled prior to May 10, a full refund will be issued.  Up to two weeks prior to the camp’s start date, a 50% refund will be issued.  One week prior to the start date, a 30% refund will be issued.  Less than one week prior to the start date, NO refunds will be issued.  This is because our instructors are booked and the camp will go on as scheduled.

Refunds in emergencies

If there is a last-minute emergency (less than one week to the start date) involving the camp participant or immediate family members, a 50% refund may be issued on a case-by-case basis.  Contact must be made ASAP in order to be eligible for refunds.  If participants are no-call no-show on the first day of camp, regardless of situation, NO refunds will be issued.  Contact must be made via phone, email, or snail mail on or before the first day of camp in order to be eligible for any refund.  Refunds will be issued at the discretion of the owner ONLY; the owner has final say in all decisions.
